BARBARA EDEN, BARRY BOSTWICK RECITA A KUTZTOWN
MAXATAWNY TWP., Pa. – Not so much a genius out of a bottle, but iconic star Barbara Eden emerged Wednesday night from an elevator at Kutztown University to take the stage alongside Barry Bostwick, perhaps best known for the cult ‘ The Rocky Horror Picture Show ‘, to tell the story of a couple in Gurney’s AR’ Love Letters’.
‘This is a beautiful piece of theater, it really is,’ Eden said, wearing a bright red dress for Valentine’s Day. ‘AR Gurney wrote a wonderful life span of two people from the time they are in kindergarten until they leave us.’
‘It’s really about love and the many machinations of love,’ Bostwick said.
Eden touched her fans during the ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ series.
‘Well, that’s wonderful,’ he said. “I am so lucky. I have the cutest fans around the world. I really am. They are intelligent. ‘
Bostwick talked about the lasting impact of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’.
‘They saw something in the film that helped them in their lives,’ Bostwick said, ‘whether it was just to be more sociable or to accept more of who they are and what they want to become in the world.’
Hundreds of fans expressed excitement to see the two actors sharing the stage and letters of emotion that spanned decades to the characters they played at Kutztown University.
‘We’re meeting another couple here for the show,’ we said we heard it was really cool, ‘said Marsha Kita of Collegeville, Montgomery County.
‘I took my lovely wife Barbara to see them both,’ said Ron Boland, also from Collegeville. ‘I had seen the show at the Valley Forge Music Fair many years ago.’
Overall, both stars said they hope the relationship they portray on stage is recognizable.
‘It’s the day before Valentine’s Day and it’s the perfect show for a Valentine’s Day celebration,’ Bostwick said.
