This time, the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak (I’ve had more than one in the past) has accumulated in my head. Pockets of fluid build up between the skull and the skin causing swelling in different areas every day. Discover, drain, patch, evaluate, repeat. Where, what, why? Infection of said spinal fluid? Intro: Intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics administered daily. To observe. Other blood cultures, he notes. Currently on the fifth day of this, two hospitals, MRI, CT scans, X-rays, ECG, ultrasound, blood tests, etc. I am once again at Stanford University Hospital with my specialists for further observation and testing. Was only here Friday for a sleep / pain study, but I had to return when another hospital team could not help my unique case / situation. Another step. Another obstacle that the Marfan syndrome puts on my way. Another day I can kick him in the face and remind him that he doesn’t own me, nor can he keep me down forever.

Carlile formed Attack! (originally called Ambiance) around 2006 when Johnny Franck, Andrew Whiting, Nick White and Andrew Wetzel met Carlile while playing in local high school bands.
In 2008, part of the journey through a visit in support of Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Confide, A Static Lullaby and Showbread. Carlile was supplanted by Nick Barham, brother of Sleeping with the Sirens drummer Gabe Barham. Carlile said it was for ‘individual reasons’ that he left the band.
Austin Carlile Men and mice
On October 8, 2009, Carlile announced that he was not, at this point, a piece of Attack !, he officially announced the formation of his new project, Of Mice and Men, with Jaxin Hall (bassist). Their first release was ‘7,000 miles for what?’.
They also did a facade of Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’, then soon after they released ‘No Really, It’s Fine’. Soon after, Austin and Jaxin began reuniting the other band members.
The band has enlisted some members of actual bands, such as Phil Manansala (lead guitarist) of A Static Lullaby and Valentino Arteaga (drummer) of Lower Definition.
Their self-titled debut album was officially announced to be released on February 23, 2010, however, it was postponed to March 9 for completion of the creation.
In 2010, Austin was unable to visit Of Mice and Men, as he was expecting to have significant heart surgery and his well-being prevented him from visiting. Jerry Roush of Sky Eats Airplane has replaced Austin.
Roush then turned into an enduring replacement, long after Carlile had a chance to visit him once more.
In September 2010, not long after Craig Owens’ escape from Chiodos, rumors that Carlile would supplant him quickly circulated, however they were denied when Brandon Bolmer was announced as a singer.
A fake tweet was produced from Carlile’s record making it appear that Carlile would be joining Chiodos as a vocalist.
Carlile rejoined the band on January 3, 2011. In November 2012, after the death of Suicide Silence singer Mitch Lucker, Carlile appeared on Ending Is the Beginning: The Mitch Lucker Memorial Show singing the song “OCD”.
Early in the morning of March 30, 2013, Carlile was captured in Bowling Green, Ohio, with battery expert Lionel Robinson II, later charged with a criminal ambush.
The band missed two shows during their ‘Directly Back at It Again’ visit with A Day to Remember and Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! subsequently. Carlile’s mugshot was released two days later.
Carlile was released on bail and asked not to have any contact with the person in question. On April 29, 2013, Carlile’s sole charge of the criminal ambush was reduced to an offensive attack by the designated authority, and was consequently found to be blameworthy.
He was fined $ 1,000 in addition to court fees, despite the fact that the $ 800 fine was suspended.
In October 2016, the band retired on a European visit so Carlile could seek clinical treatment after encountering torment during a show in Portsmouth.
In late November, Carlile explained in a progression of tweets that, as a Marfan syndrome sufferer, he would not ‘beat him’ and that he had undergone numerous surgeries ‘to make sure I can work / live’.
On December 30, 2016, Austin Carlile posted an open letter on his Instagram and Twitter expressing that he would leave the band to focus on repair, move forward and show signs of improvement after settling in Costa Rica, saying ‘… with the closing of one entrance, another will open. ‘He also said he’ won’t stop playing ‘and that he’s’ still ready to sing and I’m ravenous for what’s close to come despite the fact that I have no idea what that might be.’
On February 17th 2017 it was discovered that one of the other reasons Carlile left the band was because he wasn’t allowed to put down what he needed on the following account.
In a response to an Instagram remark about whether or not he would work with Of Mice and Men, he later said ‘No, I will never compose with them again, one of the reasons I left.
They wouldn’t let me set what I needed in the next account. Not gonna happen. I will compose what I need despite what surrender implies. ‘
In August 2018, distinct rumors spread about Austin Carlile saying he would join Linkin Park as a replacement due to the death of Chester Bennington a year ago.
The singer, via a Twitter post, denied these rumors and claimed to be currently working on a new project.
