Apollonia worked as an actress, singer and model. Apollonia won the Miss San Pedro beauty pageant and followed her stint as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams in the early 1980s. He began acting in films and television series such as CHiPs, Tales of the Gold Monkey, Fantasy Island, Matt Houston and Knight Rider. Apollonia appeared in the music videos of Ray Parker Jr.’s ‘The Other Woman’ and Eddie Money’s ‘Shakin’ in March and September 1982. She appeared in the ABC television movie The Mystic Warrior as the Native American woman ‘Wicahpi’ in May 1984.
Warner Bros. Records released Kotero’s first solo album of the same name, Apollonia in 1988, and three singles were released, ‘Since I Fell for You’, ‘The Same Dream’ and ‘Mismatch’.
Apollonia went on to appear in such films as Ministry of Vengeance (1989), Back To Back (1990), Black Magic Woman (1991). She also appeared in two Italian productions: La Donna di una Sera (A Lady for a Night) (1991) and Bad Girls (1992). Apollonia has returned to television in shows like Sliders and Air America (with Lorenzo Lamas, her former Falcon Crest co-star), and has also hosted The Jazz Channel’s Latin Beat program. An exercise video titled Go For It was also released during that time. Apollonia may also appear in E! ‘S Celebrity Homes and MTV Cribs. With friend Carmen Electra, The Test and Rendezview.
Apollonia founded a multimedia entertainment company, Kotero Entertainment in 2005. The company has partnered with a number of producers to produce a children’s animated television series and movies. His Entertainment has also started managing young talents such as TV and film star Sascha Andres and young pop singer Nikki Barreras, also known as Nikki B.

Purple Rain was made after Denise ‘Vanity’ Matthews, then leader of the female group Vanity 6, resigned from her membership prior to the 1984 Prince film. She landed the lead female role in the film.
