Amanda Freitag is an American TV judge and chef based in New York. He is a frequent guest on the Food Newtwork television program. Freitag is the judge of the Chopped TV cooking competition. She is also co-host, with Ty Pennington , of American Diner Revival.

Freitag attended Memorial High School (now known as Cedar Grove High School). Her home economics teacher suggested that Amanda might be interested in attending the Culinary Institute of America.

She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1989 and took a position at Vong New York working under chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Freitag then left Vong in 1994 to cook in Verbena, under the guidance of chef Diane Forley. He then traveled to France and Italy, briefly working at L’Arpège restaurant under chef Alain Passard in 1999.
