Adam Jones (full name: Adam Thomas Jones) is a three Grammy Award-winning American musician and visual artist, best known for his position as guitarist for Tool. Jones was rated 75th best guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone and placed ninth on Guitar World’s 100 Best Metal Guitarists. Jones is also the director of most of Tool’s music videos.

ADAM JONES (MUSICIAN) EARLY YEARS AND PERSONAL LIFE

Jones was born in Park Ridge, Illinois, raised in Libertyville, Illinois. He was accepted into the Suzuki program and continued to play the violin during his first year of high school. It was said [by whom?] That as a child he was very different from other children.

He always skipped church to read Sunday comics. As a child he had an interest in animation, turning his ideas into three-dimensional sculptures, which explains why Tool’s music videos often had 3D clay effects. He later began playing acoustic bass in an orchestra.

In addition to playing classical music, Jones played bass in the band Electric Sheep, with Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine playing guitar, until Jones moved to California (Morello soon followed). His interest shifted to film and he began working as a sculptor and special effects designer, where he learned stop-motion camera techniques which he would later apply in Tool music videos, such as’ Sober ‘,’ Prison Sex. ‘,’ Stinkfist ‘,’ Ænema ‘,’ Scism ‘,’ Parable ‘and’ Vicarious’. He graduated in 1987.

After graduation, he went to work at Rick Lazzarini’s Character Shop. During the next two years, he worked on the TV show Monsters.

He designed and manufactured a Grim Reaper makeup and a zombie head on a tip (later used in Ghostbusters II) among others. Next, he went to Stan Winston’s special effects lab, where he worked on Predator 2, sculpting a unique-looking skull for the interior of the Predator’s spaceship.

Jones has worked on several other great Hollywood films in makeup and scenography, including Jurassic Park, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Dances with Wolves and Ghostbusters II.

Jones also toured with the band Jello Biafra / The Melvins and contributed to their albums Never Breathe What You Can’t See and Sieg Howdy!. Jones and Melvins guitarist / singer Buzz Osborne are close friends.

Jones also appeared on the Melvins album Hostile Ambient Takeover, the Melvins / Lustmord collaboration Pigs of the Roman Empire and the Isis Wavering Radiant album.

On Mr. Show, he appeared as Puscifer’s fictional guitarist alongside bandmate Keenan, and can also be seen in the audience sitting at a table with Keenan in the first episode of the series.

On August 14, 2011, Jones performed the United States national anthem at the start of WWE’s SummerSlam (2011) wrestling event in Los Angeles.

Adam Jones is known for not predominantly using one particular guitar playing technique, but rather for combining many techniques such as ‘the alternating use of power chords, scratching noise, playing arpeggios, out-of-time rhythm patterns and a silent minimalism’.

In Lateralus and 10,000 Days, he made heavy use of triplets. Other techniques used to expand his band’s sound repertoire require forms of instrumental experimentation and applications of non-instrumental experimentation as well, such as his use of an Epilady as a pick on Ænima and Lateralus albums for example; continuing in this direction in Tool’s song, ‘Jambi’, Jones uses a talk box. In the song ‘Third Eye’, he uses a guitar slide for the opening.

It has two synths listed below in its effects section. Live, Jones can be seen with a great pedal board full of effects, including a DOD FX-40B Equalizer (EQ) pedal, Boss BF-2 Flanger, Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, MXR Micro Amp, Dunlop BB535 and two Bosses Master switch / power pedals among a few others. In a 1994 interview, he mentioned the Helmet band as an influence.

Jones created the graphics for the reissue of Peach’s Giving Birth to a Stone, in which Justin Chancellor, partner of Tool member Jones, played bass.

Congratulations to Tool guitarist Adam Jones! The ax pioneer married artist Korin Faught at a ceremony last month in San Francisco. Plus, there’s more good news as the couple is expecting their first child.

You may remember Adam Jones’s proposal to Faught. The Tool guitarist pulled the strings with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and asked his girlfriend to marry him at Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View 2013 in front of a crowded arena.

Before the Royal Rumble began, a message appeared on the giant screen saying, ‘Korin, Adam Jones wants to ask you something …’ Will you marry me? ” Needless to say, Korin said yes.

News of Jones’s July wedding was not revealed publicly until last night (Aug.28) after a photo of the couple was posted on Adam Jones’s official Facebook page. The post reads: ‘Mr. Jones <3 July 6th, 2013. ” Check out a photo of the couple from the wedding at Jones’ Instagram account.

As stated, marriage isn’t the only monumental news in Jones’s life. The new Mrs. Jones has revealed via her Instagram page that she is pregnant. Two weeks ago, she posted a photo of her baby bump along with the note ‘#bumpwatch’.

As for the next Tool album, drummer Danny Carey recently told us to expect a release in 2014. ‘We could finish the record by the end of the year – that’s one possibility, but the logistics of getting it produced and get into the record company line and all this stuff, I doubt we’ll be able to get it out before Christmas, ‘shares Carey. ‘We’ll see how it goes. Most likely it will be early 2014 ‘.
