This summer, Vanessa Bryant will release a deeply personal book titled Mamba & Mambacita Forever, dedicated to her late husband, basketball icon Kobe Bryant, and their daughter, Gianna “Gigi” Bryant. Set to be published on August 19, 2025, the book’s release is strategically timed just days before August 24, a day celebrated as “Kobe Bryant Day” in Los Angeles and Orange County. This poignant timing underscores the enduring impact of Kobe and Gianna’s legacy on their community and beyond.
A tribute to a remarkable legacy
Kobe Bryant, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash in January 2020, was not only a legendary athlete but also a devoted father. His daughter Gianna, who was only 13 at the time of the accident, shared her father’s passion for basketball and was an advocate for women’s sports. In Mamba & Mambacita Forever, Vanessa aims to celebrate the lives of both Kobe and Gianna, highlighting their contributions and the love they shared.
The book will feature a collection of images and stories that reflect the tributes paid to the father-daughter duo worldwide. Vanessa collaborated with acclaimed photographer Andrew D. Bernstein, who previously worked with Kobe on his 2018 book, The Mamba Mentality. Recently, the foundation made headlines by donating 8,000 pieces of apparel and sneakers to those affected by the California wildfires, showcasing Vanessa’s commitment to giving back to the community.
