GT’s Jai McDowall wants to find love
BRITAIN’S Got Talent wannabe Jai McDowall hopes being on the show will get him a new girlfriend.
The Scottish singer became one of the favorites to win after impressing
the judges in last Saturday’s episode with his version of Anthem from Chess.
Support worker Jai told a newspaper: ‘If being on Britain’s Got Talent
gets girls’ attention, I wouldn’t say no and I wouldn’t rule to
find a girl. ‘
Earlier this week, she said she received marriage proposals from a female
fan.
Speaking of Daybreak’s marriage offers, Jai, 24, said: ‘I think I got
one. I haven’t really gone through them all, to be honest …
‘A couple of friends texted me and said’ I think you’ve just been
proposed to. ‘I thought,’ What, really? ‘I have to go take a look. ‘
Jai, who had previously rehearsed for The X Factor, added: ‘It was great, my
Facebook page was posted on Timbuktu and back I think – with the amount
of posts, I’ve had.
‘And it’s great because there are some people who obviously know me and have known
me since I was really little, and then there are complete strangers
who get in touch to say they cried at the show or they
were touched by it. It is an incredible feeling. ‘

JAI MCDOWALL BRING ME TO LIFE
As you can see in my eyes like open doors
leading you to my core
where I have become so numb without a soul my spirit is sleeping in a cold place
until you find it there and bring it home
Wake me in
Wake me in
call my name and save me from the darkness
order my blood to flow
before I am undone
Save me from the nothing I have become
Is Rick Lagina Married
Now that I know what I’m without
you can’t let me
breathe into me and make me real
Bring me to life
Wake me in
Wake me in
call my name and save me from the darkness
order my blood to flow
before I am undone
Save me from the nothing I have become
Bring me to life
Bring me to life
frozen inside without your touch
without your love darling
only you are the life among the dead
Wake me in
Wake me in
call my name and save me from the darkness
order my blood to flow
before I am undone
Save me from the nothing I have become
‘Bring Me To Life’ by Jai McDowall
JAI MCDOWALL ANTHEM
Jai auditioned in Liverpool for Britain’s Got Talent fifth series with Chess’ Anthem, receiving very positive comments from all 3 judges, Michael McIntyre, Amanda Holden and David Hasselhoff. Chess is a musical with music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of the pop group ABBA, lyrics by Ulvaeus and Tim Rice and a book by Rice. The story involves a politically driven Cold War era chess tournament between two American and Soviet great masters and their fight for a woman who runs one and falls in love with the other.
Although the protagonists were not intended to represent real individuals, the character of the American grandmaster was loosely based on Bobby Fischer, while the elements of the story may have been inspired by the chess careers of Russian great masters Viktor Korchnoi and Anatoly Karpov.

JAI MCDOWALL VINCE IL BGT | JAI MCDOWALL BGT AUDITION SONG
2011 BGT winner Jai McDowall: ‘I made bad decisions and went the wrong way.’ Interview with the times of TV
What have you done since you won?
‘I toured with Gareth Gates last year and played in Scotland. I’ve also written and recorded some co-writing for a new album and hopefully we’ll be releasing something later in the year. We are becoming darker and more rocky; let’s hope it’s like True Blood meets Josh Groban. ‘
Are you in contact with other BGT competitors?
‘I’m about to do a theater tour with Charlotte Jaconelli, who was part of Charlotte and Jonathan. It was nice to talk to someone from BGT about the similarities in the way things turned out.
‘I also performed with Lucy Kay and Collabro. Lucy and I have Twitter jokes about Irn-Bru and haggis! And it’s great that guys like Collabro sing that kind of music. ‘
Have you seen the judges of your year?
‘I spoke to David Hasselhoff on Twitter, but haven’t met any of them since. It would be nice though, because I liked most of them. ‘
Simon was pretty mean to you, right?
“I met him right after I won and he said my performance back then was much better than the first. I said, ‘Yes, it’s because the first time you called me monotonous!’ When I looked back, I agreed with him though. ‘
How has Britain’s Got Talent changed things for you?
“It made life in the music industry easier. I used to sing in groups and at weddings and that was as far as I thought it would go, but the show gave me a platform to do bigger things than I thought I was capable and opened doors. I really enjoyed the show. ‘
Were you disappointed not to have a second album with Syco [Simon Cowell’s record company]?
‘Yes, it’s like when you get fired from a job, you are angry and you think’ What should I do? ‘ The first year after winning was magical because I had done everything for myself, but after Syco, I made bad decisions, signed up with people I shouldn’t have and took a path that didn’t suit me.
‘But I’ve grown tremendously over the past four years and learned skills I didn’t have before, so in the end it worked out fine.’
Any regrets for doing BGT?
“Absolutely not. I would do it again, but I would say to myself about the past: ‘Find out more about the sector’, because I was naive; I went in with blinders and did what I was told. I just got on stage now where I feel pretty sure I have my opinions. ‘
Do you still watch the show?
‘Yes, it’s good to see the competition! It’s weird though, I remember the year after I won, it was hard to watch because I thought: ‘I’ve been there and I’ve done it’. But now it’s nice to see people with the same dream that I had to fulfill to make it come true. ‘
How did he perform at the Royal Variety Show?
“Weird, surreal but brilliant and I hope to do it again someday. I shot in a dream because there were all these people I had seen on TV like Penn and Teller and Tony Bennett. I also kissed Nicole Scherzinger, and panicked when Andrew Lloyd Webber passed! Princess Anne was also lovely; he also said he knew Tarbolton, where I come from. ‘
Were you reasonable with your winnings?
“Probably too sensible! I paid off the mortgage on my house and spent the rest to put it back in place. I should have escaped to New York, but it was nice to have a roof over my head. ‘
What are your long-term plans?
‘I have a lot of American fans, so I would love to make music and tour there. I have always loved everything American since I was a child; it’s all Disney’s fault. I’ve also been a model and I’d like to get into acting, but I want to try everything; you have been dead for a long time! ‘
What are your professional role models?
“I like Kelly Clarkson, she’s great and she’s from a talent show too and now she has a brilliant career. His music is the kind I’d like to do because it all comes from his heart. If I go to America, I want to go to Nashville and do a mix of country, rock and pop like that. ‘

FINAL PERFORMANCE BY JAI MCDOWALL
The British are talented: it’s the latest performance
Viewers of Britain’s Got Talent are livid when Jai McDowall loses the final
Great Britain has talent: the spectators of the champions were in awe after Jai McDowall lost a place in the final. The 33-year-old singer returned to the UK Got Talent stage after winning season five in 2011, performing a stunning rendition of I’ll Never Love Again.
It was a performance that saw Judge Simon Cowell forced to confront the star after he previously stated that he was ‘disappointed’ Jai for winning the competition. Speaking with Jai, Simon said: ‘So, 2011. I remember my problem at the time was that I was struggling to find out where you fit into the market.
‘The fact that I have never given you support during or after the show and you have the courage to come back and prove me a point: you have grown in stature and confidence and it was an incredible performance. ‘I owe you an apology for not giving you the support you needed at the time, but I also respect the fact that you came back and made me look like an idiot and you’re awesome.
I couldn’t be more thrilled, so here’s the standing ovation I should have given you. ‘While it was an incredible moment for Jai, it was bittersweet – with the singer failing to make it to the final.
